WHICH VW CADDY VEHICLE SHOULD I GET FOR A CONVERSION ?
VW CADDY MAXI LIFE OR VW CADDY COMMERCIAL VAN(SWB AND MAXI SIZE)
VW CADDY MAXI.
The Maxi is the longest length version, and the LIfe means its a people carrier vehicle which comes direct from the factory with fitted windows and already insulated. We remove the seats in the back(two rows) to carry out the conversion. These models are a more refined drive than the commercial Caddy van and also cheaper to convert to a camper as we do not have to fit windows/carpet and insulate(quite a substantial saving, (see my page for these prices) Road tax is cheaper by half than the commercial van. There is also no additional speed restriction on the Caddy Life, unlike the commercial van that can only officially drive at 60mph for example on National Speed Limit roads (which is 70 mph on Motorways and dual carriageways)
VW COMMERCIAL VAN
There is more of these vans on the market to purchase and usually cheaper than the Maxi life. They come in both maxi length and SWB length. They require our insulation/carpet and windows package as part of the conversion(see our page for prices) Tend to have higher mileage, road tax is higher than the Caddy Life, so probably best to juggle around figures in terms of additional conversion costs against cheaper to purchase the vehicle costs.
VW CADDY WAV (Wheelchair Accessable Vehicle)
Yes we can convert these models which generally tend to have lower mileage, and quite a few are automatics(DSG)it does cost more to convert though as we have to remove certain equipment such as ramp, electrics and fittings, plus fit a bespoke steel floor to secure the Rock n Roll bed where the wheelchair access floor has been removed/cut away.
SWB VW CADDY
99% of the SWB (not as long in length) are the commercial van variety
Yes we can convert these, just be aware that once the 6ft long bed is out there is no leg room at the end of the bed as it fits right up to the back of the front seats
The Iconic VW Caddy deserves nothing less than the Best Quality Conversion
After 18 years in the camper conversion trade we have now reconstructed the business to specialise in the camper conversion of the VW Caddy.
Micro campervans come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but they all share a few common characteristics. They are typically smaller than traditional campervans, often measuring less than 15 feet in length. They also tend to be more fuel-efficient, as they are built on smaller, more agile platforms that require less power to operate. This makes them a great option for budget-conscious travellers who want to explore the open road without breaking the bank.
Despite their compact size, micro campervans can offer surprisingly comfortable and functional living spaces.Micro campervans are small, compact vehicles that have been converted into mini living spaces on wheels. They are usually based on small vans or cars and are designed to provide basic sleeping and cooking accommodations for one or two people. The idea behind micro campervans is to offer a more affordable and convenient alternative to larger vans or motorhomes, while still providing the freedom and flexibility of travelling on the road.
Sorry we do not build bespoke campers
Why??
Because we have created a tried and tested template which maximises the best use of the space at hand allowing us to fit all the usual appliances you would find in todays VW Transporter but on a much smaller cozier scale into the Caddy Maxi
We are a family run business and only carry out full camper conversions as we dedicate all our time to achieving this.
We get asked this question a lot! The good news is that it is easy to insure your self build campervan. There are plenty of insurer’s that cover self build campervan insurance. Premiums can be quite affordable. Leisure vehicles are often seen as less risky than daily commuting vehicles
Using our partner Insurance company Adrianflux and our dealer ref number which we provide you will get the best quote possible
No, you do not need to tell DVLA that you have converted the van into a campervan. It is very important to inform your insurer that your van is being converted into a campervan. You need to get the right campervan insurance. This step is cruciavw

Check out the competion and prices you will return to us.
This is our baby

You will be astonished at the comfort and space provided for such a micro camper

If there is a gap/space anywhere in our conversions then rest assurred we have used it for the all important storage space

Not for everyone as you make your own entertainment whilst camping. However a TV can be a good companion if on your own
